Great Family Vacation Spots – Fun Places to Take the Whole Family

Regardless of why you’re getting away, finding the great family vacation spots can make your trip perfect.

Entertaining Fun

Orlando, Florida. Fun Vacation Spot of the world! Disney World is an attraction every family should see at least once. They offer tons of discounts and airplane tickets are usually fairly inexpensive no matter where you are coming from. It’s best to plan at least 4 days in Disney World, and up to a week if the budget (and your sanity) can handle it.

Hershey, Pennsylvania is home to Hershey Park or “Chocolate Town USA.” This quaint amusement park is just three hours away from New York City, and 90 minutes from Philadelphia. They offer high-end lodging, dining as well as an amusement park with a chocolate theme. And be prepared, the entire town smells sweetly of chocolate.

Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin is the Water Park Capital of the World. The Great Wolf Lodge is a family fun dream spot, with over 100,000 square feet of outdoor and indoor water parks, and regular play areas. There is also all sort of seasonal and holiday fun offered including Halloween events and Holiday events in December. This park is truly one of the great family vacation spots of the world.

Relaxing Fun

Mayan Riviera, Mexico. Sure, the kids can go to Mexico with you, why not? There are beaches galore, and ruins to explore. Mexico offers all-inclusive resorts that prove great for family vacationing. Other activities include snorkeling, and visiting the Xcaret theme park.

Grand Canyon, Arizona. Your kids will stand there with their jaws dropped. And so will you. Fly (or drive) the family out to Arizona to get a peek at the largest, most beautiful “hole” in North America. Try your hand at white-water rafting, or go house boating, take a helicopter or even a balloon ride over the canyon for amazing views of the scenery.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Always one of the great family vacation spots in the US, Myrtle Beach offers relaxation, sun, sand and surf. With over 60 miles of beaches, how can they go wrong? Budget wise, it’s family friendly, and many of the hotels offer kid-friendly activities. There are plenty of water parks, amusement parks and tons of other family friendly entertainment.

Educational Fun

Williamsburg, Virginia combines the educational fun of Colonial Williamsburg with the entertaining fun of Busch Gardens nearby. In Colonial Williamsburg, life during the 1770’s is made a reality with actors and volunteers. It’s a great experience for everyone, not just for the kids.

Washington, DC. The perfect place for the children to learn about America’s government while visiting monuments, statues and the White House itself. Here at one of the great family vacation spots, you can visit The Smithsonian Institute, The Natural History Museum, The Air and Space Museum as well as The Museum of American History to visit, too.

New England. New England, being the birthplace of America is a wonderful place for any family to visit. The history is rich here and the places to visit are never-ending. From beaches, to national parks, to historical monuments and buildings, you and your children will learn much about life in colonial times.
